YOOOOO, JWAN I HOPE YOU ARE READING THIS FAM, THANKS SO MUCH FOR HITTING ME UP ABOUT THE PHOTOSHOOT. PHOTOS LOOK GREAT. WHAT UP DONTE?
YOU ALREADY KNOW, JWAN WAS ONE OF THE FIRST WITH THE NEW FRESHMAN "GREY/RED COLORWAY" CREWNECK.
Jawan Boyce aka Jwan was born and raised in Detroit, MI. The oldest of three children, he developed a passion for music at an early age. Idolizing lyricist like 2pac, The Notorious B.I.G, and Jay-Z, he knew music was something he wanted to focus on for the rest of his life. He was raised by his mother, Denise, who also kept him involved with sports; he played little league football for the Southfield Jayhawks, and also played in the PAL league for the Westside Cubs. Jwan first joined choir in the 7th grade where he gained an interest in vocals. This choir expanded his musical ability from "spitting" to actually having an ear for music. Jwan has sung at Ground Zero, Carnigie Hall, and a host of other places. Jwan attended Southfield High School where he played football all four years; he played quarterback until injuring himself during his senior year. Jwan remained in choir during highschool and recieved a full scholarship for vocals, but declined. Jwan chose to continue his education at Bowling Green State University. Rapping and singing are not the only talents he possess; Jwan produces and writes songs. He has written and worked with Detroit artist like Big Sean and Chris Newland. Jwan is also apart of the Detroit based promotion company, "Finally Famous", a group of young people who specialize in promotion. One of the members (Big Sean) was recently signed to Kanye Wests' Good Music. Jwan released a mixtape, "Waiting For Tomorrow", in the summer of 2008 which he did all of the rapping, singing, and producing on each song except for two. Knowing the true meaning of hardwork and dedication Jwan is still currently on the grind to get signed. He is currently working on his follow up mixtape, "Me and My Band", scheduled for 2009 release. It is called "Me and My Band" because Jwan likes to think of himself as a one man band, doing his own rapping, singing, and producing. It will be a double disc with exclusive dvd footage.
Jwan is the future of hip hop and here you are getting it first.
Keep a look out for the homie JWAN
